Chicken and cheese buns

Ingredients

For Buns

All purpose Flour: 2 cups
Yeast: 2 tablespoons
Sugar(powdered): 2 teaspoons
Salt: 1 teaspoon
Butter: 2 sticks (at room temperature, unsalted)
Egg: 1 large
Milk: 1/2 cup (Luke-warm)

For filling

Chicken breast (minced): 1/2 kg
Oil: 3 tablespoons
onion: 1 small
garlic: 4 cloves (chopped)
salt: 1 teaspoon
*black pepper: 1 tablespoon
soya sauce: 2 tablespoons
lemon: 1 medium
tomato puree/ketchup: 1 tablespoon
*chilly flakes: 1/2 tablespoon
(Note: you can either use black pepper or chilly flakes or both as per desire.)
cheese (mozzarella or parmesan): 1 1/2 cup grated

Description

You can accompany them with red sauces.

Method

For buns

In a large bowls add all purpose flour,salt,sugar, yeast and sift lightly with both hands until combined. in another bowl add butter and egg and whisk it with a fork.

Add the butter-egg mix to the dry ingredients and mix together for 5 mins.

Now start adding milk to knead the dough until the dough feels slightly tough.

Brush another bowl with a thin layer of oil, put the kneaded dough in it , cover it with a cling-warp and allow it to rest until it rises twice it's size.

Make sure to put the bowl in a hot place, so the yeast works well to rise it.

 

For filling

Add oil in a pan, when hot add onion. As the onion start changing its colour from purple to white add the mince meat. toss it fastly. now add chopped garlic add allow the meat to change its colour from pink until white. add salt black pepper/chilly flakes or both, soya sauce, lemon, tomato puree/ketchup. reduce the flame to 50 centigrade and cover the pan with a lid. allow the meat to suck in the juices from soya sauce and lemon, when it feels dry add 1/2 cup of water. turn the flame at 80 centigarde and remove the lid. toss the meat until cooked.

 

make a shape of bun while adding in a little chicken filling with a little cheese in each.

put the buns on a tray in open air for 20 minutes until risen

preheat oven to 180 centigrade.

bake for 20 minutes until the surface of the buns is golden-red. switch sides, until the buns are golden and risen.
